About the Role We are seeking an experienced Associate Director, Mechanical Engineering to lead complex, high-value projects and drive the continued growth of Black & White Engineering in Singapore and the wider APAC region. This role will oversee multi-disciplinary teams delivering technically challenging projects, particularly within mission-critical environments such as data centres. You will play a key role in client engagement, project delivery, team leadership, and business development. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Team Management Lead, mentor, and develop a team of mechanical engineers, overseeing all day-to-day people management responsibilities. Drive team performance, utilisation, and project delivery in line with business targets. Contribute to workforce planning, recruitment, and capability development in Singapore. Project & Technical Delivery Provide senior technical leadership across projects, ensuring high-quality engineering solutions. Lead end-to-end project delivery, ensuring client requirements are met on time, within scope, and within budget. Act as a trusted advisor to clients, ensuring strong stakeholder relationships across developers, contractors, and consultants. Oversee design reviews, technical compliance, and coordination across disciplines. Commercial & Financial Management Take ownership of project financial performance, including cost control, profitability, and risk management. Lead feasibility studies, prepare and review fee proposals, and support bid submissions. Monitor team financials (utilisation, revenue, margins) and take corrective action where required. Business Development & Strategy Support the growth of B&W Engineering in Singapore by contributing to client development and market expansion. Identify new business opportunities within the data centre and mission-critical sectors. Represent the company in industry forums and client engagements. Leadership Contribution Act as a key member of the Singapore leadership team. Contribute to strategic planning, operational excellence, and regional alignment. Qualifications & Experience Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BEng/BSc or equivalent). Chartered Engineer status (CEng, PE Singapore, or equivalent) preferred. Minimum 10–15 years’ experience in mechanical (MEP) design consultancy. Proven experience delivering complex MEP projects, ideally in: Data Centres / Mission Critical Facilities, Commercial or large-scale infrastructure projects Strong knowledge of relevant design standards, including Singapore codes and regulations (e.g. BCA, SS standards).
