What You’ll Own You’ll commission, calibrate, and deploy autonomous cleaning robots and IoT sensors at client sites — from first install to sign-off. You’ll troubleshoot on-site issues in real time: navigation errors, sensor drift, connectivity drops, battery/charging faults — and know when to fix it yourself vs. escalate to the OEM. You’ll train site supervisors and cleaning staff to operate and handle Level-1 maintenance on the equipment, so BNL’s frontline teams aren’t dependent on you for every hiccup. You’ll run scheduled preventive maintenance and firmware updates across the fleet, keeping uptime high and service tickets low. You’ll be the technical bridge between BNL operations and our robotics OEM partners — logging faults, tracking warranty claims, and feeding field data back to improve deployment playbooks. You’ll document site-specific configurations (mapping, no-go zones, cleaning routes) so every deployment is repeatable and auditable. You’ll support pre-sales site surveys — assessing floor plans, obstacles, and connectivity before a robot is even purchased. What We’re Looking For Diploma or degree in Mechatronics, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Robotics, or related field. 1–3 years hands-on experience with robotics, automation, or IoT systems — internships and FYP robotics projects count. Comfortable with basic electrical troubleshooting, Wi-Fi/network diagnostics, and reading technical manuals You don’t panic when something breaks on-site in front of a client — you stay calm and work the problem. Willing to travel across sites island-wide; some early-morning or after-hours work when a client’s operating hours demand it. Class 3 driving licence preferred (own transport a plus, for carrying test equipment). Why Join Us You’ll be BNL’s first dedicated Field Application Engineer — this role is being built around you, not the other way around. Direct exposure to Singapore’s environmental services robotics rollout, working alongside our new Operations Technology Manager. OEM-certified training provided — this is a genuine springboard into robotics/automation as a career, not just a maintenance job. Clear path to Senior Field Application Engineer or Robotics Operations Lead as BNL’s fleet scales. What Success Looks Like (First 90 Days) Independently commission and hand over at least 3 client site deployments. Build a personal fault-log/troubleshooting cheat sheet for BNL’s current robot fleet. Train at least one site team to handle Level-1 issues without escalating to you. Practical Details Location: Client sites island-wide (Gardens by the Bay, Resorts World Sentosa, and other BNL contract sites); base at BNL HQ for admin/reporting. Reporting to: Operations Technology Manager. Hours: Standard field hours with occasional early/after-hours deployment windows.
