Design Manager (Building) Main Contractor

About the Company A1 Main Contractor with a strong presence in Singapore’s construction industry, delivering large-scale and iconic building developments across commercial, mixed-use, hospitality, institutional, and residential sectors. Due to ongoing project expansion, they are looking for an experienced Design Manager to support and lead project design coordination and management activities. Responsibilities Lead and manage the overall design coordination process for building construction projects from pre-construction to completion. Coordinate closely with clients, consultants, architects, M&E teams, structural teams, subcontractors, and internal project stakeholders. Review design drawings, technical specifications, submissions, and construction details to ensure compliance with project requirements. Manage design development, authority submissions, technical coordination, and design changes throughout the project lifecycle. Identify design conflicts, technical issues, and propose practical construction solutions. Ensure designs are aligned with construction methodology, project schedule, budget, and buildability requirements. Lead design coordination meetings and monitor design progress to ensure timely deliverables. Work closely with BIM teams for coordination and clash detection. Liaise with authorities and consultants to ensure approvals and compliance with Singapore regulations and standards. Support tender activities, value engineering, and project planning where required. Mentor and guide design coordinators and project teams. Requirements Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Building, Construction Management, or related discipline. Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in building construction projects with Main Contractors. Strong experience in design coordination and project management for large-scale building developments. Familiar with Singapore BCA regulations, authority submission processes, and construction standards. Strong understanding of architectural, structural, and M&E coordination. Experience in BIM coordination and design management processes.
