Roles & Responsibilities Job Description Industry/ Organization Type: Construction Position Title: Safety Officer / ECO Officer Working Location: Islandwide Working Hours: Mon – Fri (8 am – 7pm) Salary: Basic + AWS + Performance Bonus Duration: Permanent Key Responsibilities Regularly inspect facilities, plants, and equipment to identify and mitigate risks. Oversee the validity of operational licenses, approvals, and equipment certifications. Conduct routine compliance checks, risk assessments, investigative processes, and produce comprehensive reports. Maintain and provide access to all relevant GHS requirements and Safety Data Sheets. Design and schedule emergency and safety protocols training. Create and implement comprehensive policies related to fire safety, ESH risks management, training programs, and enforcement compliance. Ensure strict adherence to regulatory requirements (MOM, NEA, PUB, SCDF, LTA), and act as an expert safety advisor on engineering and process design, as well as the procurement of plants, machinery, and services. Maintain standards for ISO 14001:2015 (EMS), ISO 45001:2018, SS 651:2019 (OHSMS), and BizSafe Level Star certification requirements. Promote safety culture within all organizational tiers and among contractors, aimed at preventing workplace injuries and illnesses. Plan and coordinate events to elevate fire safety and occupational health awareness. Fulfill duties as a Safe Management Officer, implementing and monitoring Safe Management Measures at the workplace. APPLY NOW!!! Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Safety, Occupational Safety and Health, or a related field. Must be a Registered Safety Officer with MOM. 5 years of relevant ESH experience in the chemical, petrochemical, hazardous waste management, or a similar manufacturing sector. In-depth knowledge of ESH legislation, regulations, and best practices. Logistics and fleet management experience is an added benefit.
