About this role

Key Responsibilities Organise and catalogue objects in the Handling Collection, ensuring they are stored and documented systematically and sustainably. Conduct research on objects in the collection to provide contextual information for education and access/community group stakeholders seeking to borrow objects for various engagement purposes. Collaborate with Education Managers on content development relating to objects from the Handling Collection, for the production of the Handling Collection catalogue. Handle logistical requirements related to the storage and organisation of the collection, such as labelling and packing objects for storage and outgoing loans. Update the inventory and conduct regular inventory checks. Manage and process external loans of objects from the collection to education and access/community group stakeholders. Work with Education Managers to curate loans relevant to the needs of education and access group stakeholders. Secondary Duties and Responsibilities Educational/Access Workshops, Programmes, and Exhibitions Assist with maintenance of handling items in school and access/community programmes. Handle the content development and distribution of marketing materials such as brochures, EDMs, resource kits, etc. Undertake ad-hoc duties as assigned by the supervisor. Job Requirements Field of Study: Education, research, collections management, cataloguing, arts management, art, history, or a museum/gallery-related discipline (preferred) Skillset: • An interest in Asian material culture and art history, and/or experience in collections management would be an advantage. • Organised, meticulous and careful, both in attention to detail and in the physical handling of objects. • Good research skills, particularly in identifying and investigating object types. • Strong professional communication skills, including email correspondence with educators, stakeholders, and vendors. • Proficiency in Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Office (particularly Excel), and Outlook apps. Duration: 1 Year (From August) Hours: Working hours: 8.15am – 5.45pm (Monday to Thursday), 8.15am – 5.15pm (Friday) Salary: $2800-3100/Month EA License No.: 96C4864 (Shanice Lim Xin Ni) Reg.
