Software Engineer (Java)

The Group reported 2025 global revenues of €22.5 billion. Responsibilities Work with subject matter experts to develop solutions that meet business requirements. Develop java services integrated in the end to end processing. Design and code a significant amount of a robust, secure and efficient API to persist / retrieve data and implement the business logic. Responsible for all aspects of software development and production support (L3). Participation in code reviews and sharing of knowledge with other members of the team. Provide technical leadership and influence architectural decisions. Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams including product, QA, and infrastructure. Ensure compliance with regulatory, security, and audit requirements (especially relevant for financial systems). Develop and maintain enterprise-grade applications using Java (JDK 17+) and related frameworks. Design and implement microservices architecture using Spring ecosystem. Work with messaging systems such as Kafka for event-driven architectures. Implement multi-threading, concurrency handling, and performance optimization in Java applications. Ensure code quality using design patterns, SOLID principles, and clean coding practices. Implement security best practices including OAuth2, JWT, encryption, and secure coding standards. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. 2 years+ of hands-on experience in backend development using Java. Strong proficiency in Java (JDK 17+), Spring Boot, and Spring Cloud. Solid understanding of microservices architecture and RESTful API design. Experience working with Kafka or similar messaging/event-streaming platforms. Strong knowledge of multithreading, concurrency, and performance tuning. Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, Oracle, MongoDB). Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes). Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices. Strong knowledge of software design principles, including SOLID and design patterns. Experience implementing application security standards (OAuth2, JWT, encryption). Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) is a plus.
