About this role
Key Responsibilities Manage the end-to-end operational execution of bunker fuel trades , from nomination and scheduling through to delivery and completion. Coordinate bunker deliveries with suppliers, physical bunker companies, vessels, ship owners, charterers, agents, and terminals . Arrange and monitor bunker stem nominations , ensuring deliveries are carried out according to contractual terms and agreed delivery windows. Liaise with vessel operators and masters to confirm vessel schedules, ETA/ETB/ETD, port restrictions, and bunker requirements . Monitor vessel movements and coordinate changes to bunker delivery schedules when required. Review and manage bunker contracts, confirmations, invoices, delivery documents, and bunker delivery notes (BDNs) . Ensure accurate and timely quantity and quality documentation for bunker deliveries. Handle operational issues such as delays, off-specification bunkers, quantity disputes, delivery interruptions, and claims . Work closely with the Trading and Commercial teams to ensure trades are executed efficiently and within agreed contractual terms. Coordinate with internal Finance, Credit, Risk, and Compliance teams on trade settlements and documentation. Track and reconcile supplier and customer invoices , ensuring accurate pricing, quantities, and payment terms. Manage demurrage, claims, discrepancies, and operational costs arising from bunker deliveries. Maintain accurate records of all bunker transactions and update internal trading and operations systems. Monitor market and operational developments that may affect bunker availability, pricing, or delivery. Build and maintain strong relationships with bunker suppliers, shipowners, charterers, and service providers . Requirements Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Maritime Studies, Shipping, Logistics, Business, or a related discipline . 2–5 years of experience in bunker operations, bunker trading support, shipping operations, vessel operations, or trade operations. Strong understanding of bunker fuels, physical bunker supply, and marine fuel delivery processes . Experience working with bunker suppliers, shipowners, charterers, vessel operators, or traders is highly advantageous. Familiarity with Bunker Delivery Notes (BDNs), bunker specifications, quantity/quality claims, and bunker contracts . Strong understanding of vessel schedules, port operations, and marine logistics. Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple transactions simultaneously. Ability to work under pressure and respond quickly to operational changes. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant shipping/trading systems.
