Technical Superintendent (Pctc)

Key Responsibilities Manage the day-to-day technical operations of assigned PCTC vessels. Plan and oversee dry dockings, repairs, maintenance, and major technical projects. Monitor vessel performance, maintenance schedules, and operating costs. Prepare and manage vessel budgets, repair estimates, and expenditure. Ensure compliance with Class, Flag State, ISM Code, SOLAS, MARPOL, and company requirements. Conduct vessel inspections and provide technical support to Masters and Chief Engineers. Liaise with shipyards, classification societies, suppliers, and service providers. Investigate technical defects and machinery failures, implementing corrective actions. Ensure technical documentation and reports are maintained accurately. Requirements Chief Engineer (Class I) Certificate of Competency or Degree in Marine Engineering or a related discipline. Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Technical Superintendent managing PCTC, Ro-Ro, or similar vessel types . Previous sailing experience as a Chief Engineer is advantageous. Strong knowledge of dry docking, planned maintenance systems (PMS), vessel budgeting, and technical procurement. Good understanding of IMO regulations, ISM Code, SOLAS, MARPOL, Class and Flag State requirements. Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office and ship management software.
