Senior Manager, Systems Optimization

Role Purpose The Senior Manager, System Optimization is accountable for improving the technical performance, reliability, efficiency, and operational readiness of assets across the operating portfolio in ENGIE SEA. The role supports site teams in the country to identify under-performing systems, recurring technical issues, process deviations, and improvement opportunities, implement quick wins and long-term mitigating actions. The role leads energy performance management, benchmarking, operational analytics, strategic maintenance governance, and technical support to the site O&M teams. The role acts as the point of reference in REX (return of experience) discussions between Operations, Project Delivery, Engineering and Business Development. Serves as the regional subject matter expert on utility system optimization, operational excellence and performance governance. Responsibilities: Lead site technical audits and discussions to identify energy inefficiencies, recurring issues, performance gaps, and improvement opportunities across onsite utility and industrial assets. Identify and lead quick-win and long-term initiatives across operations, including plant load management, sequencing, control tuning, and system optimization. Perform benchmark across sites to identify best practices, gaps, and replicate opportunities across ENGIE SEA asset-based operations. Ensure contractual energy guarantees and performance targets are monitored and achieved. Prepare and sign off annual energy reports for clients under applicable energy service or GESP contracts. Provide technical guidance on condition-based maintenance, preventive maintenance, system optimization, and performance improvement actions. Ensure site teams have adequate training, technical guidance, and best practices for equipment functionality, operational performance, and safety compliance. Support engineering and business development teams by leading REX discussions for design improvement, lifecycle cost optimization, and future asset operability. Provide analytical feedback during pre-NBO, BO, FEED, HAZOP, HAZID, and technical design discussions to ensure operational requirements are reflected early in project development. Key Success Behavior Able to lead and influence multi-disciplinary teams across operations, maintenance, engineering, commissioning, and site management functions. Communicate well in technical findings, performance issues, improvement plans, and optimization results clearly to internal stakeholders, site teams, clients, and management. Requirements: Degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical, Electrical, or a related engineering discipline. Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in industrial, manufacturing, utilities, energy services. Direct experience in maintenance, operations, commissioning, asset performance, energy optimization, or technical services. Proven track record in leading multi-disciplinary teams and driving technical performance improvement across operational sites. Strong understanding of utility and industrial systems, including chilled water systems, boilers, steam production systems, air compressors, pumps, rotating equipment, pressure vessels, and heat exchange systems. Familiarity with CMMS, preventive maintenance, condition-based maintenance, failure trend analysis, and cost tracking. Ability to assess business plan impact, cost implications, lifecycle cost optimization, and energy services business models.
