About this role

About Us (Centre for Positive Recovery) We are a trauma-informed therapy team within Epworth Community Service, dedicated to supporting children, youth, and caregivers through evidence-based interventions. Role Overview As an Associate Psychologist / Social Worker / Counsellor, you will deliver high-quality clinical services, including intake assessment, formulation, intervention, and case management. You will also contribute to group programmes, outreach initiatives, and service development, ensuring that all practices are aligned with trauma-informed principles and organizational values. This role is ideal for early-career professionals seeking to build competencies in trauma-informed care while contributing to meaningful outcomes for clients and families. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Key Responsibilities Clinical Practice o Conduct intake assessments and develop case formulations/treatment plans. o Deliver evidence-based interventions under supervision. o Maintain accurate and timely documentation and case reviews. o Provide crisis support and safety planning when required. Programme Delivery & Group Work o Support planning and facilitation of structured interventions and support groups. o Participate in programme evaluation and feedback processes. Community Engagement & Outreach o Represent the organisation at talks, workshops, and community events. o Promote mental health awareness and service accessibility. Professional Development & Reflective Practice o Engage in supervision, case consultations, and CPD activities. o Apply feedback to improve practice and maintain ethical standards. Service Administration, Evaluation, Research o Support data collection and analysis for routine service evaluation o Contribute to research initiatives within the department o Contribute to reporting, scheduling, and operational processes. o [Social Worker] Conduct financial assessments for clients who require financial assistance. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Requirements • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or Post Graduate Diploma in Social Work from an accredited institution, or a Degree in Counselling, Psychology, Social Work from an accredited institution. • At least 1-2 years of relevant experience in working with children/youths and families. • Experience with trauma-informed and/or therapeutic work is an advantage. Core Competencies & Skills We’re looking for someone who is empathetic, adaptable, and committed to ethical, client-centered care. You should have strong communication and interpersonal skills, work well in a team, and be eager to learn and grow through supervision. A foundation in psychological principles, openness to feedback, and resilience in managing the demands of trauma-informed work are essential.
