Job Summary The Wintel Engineer provides expert support in planning, installing, and administering Workplace Management systems. This role includes managing workplace environments, creating and updating company images, developing OS deployment sequences, and improving daily operational procedures. Responsibilities Install, configure, test, and maintain endpoint hardware and software, including operating systems, applications, drivers, upgrades, updates, and hotfixes Plan, implement, and support patch management and software distribution services Design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure, and highly available AWS or Azure infrastructure and services Deploy, configure, and manage AWS or Azure services such as EC2, VPC, S3, RDS, Lambda, IAM, Azure App Services, Azure SQL Database, and Azure Functions Collaborate with development teams to architect and deploy cloud-native applications Implement and maintain automation and infrastructure-as-code (IaC) using tools like CloudFormation or Terraform Troubleshoot and resolve AWS or Azure infrastructure, application, and connectivity issues Implement backup and disaster recovery strategies for AWS or Azure resources Administer back-end infrastructure services focusing on PC imaging Support desktop and server escalations related to Workplace Management tools Perform quality assurance testing for endpoint device changes Streamline daily operational processes through automation Ensure smooth daily operations and maintain accurate documentation and reports Perform other ad-hoc duties as assigned Required competencies and certifications Degree or Diploma in Electrical/Electronic/Computer Engineering or Information Systems Minimum 5 years of experience with Windows Servers, Active Directory, PowerShell, Group Policy Objects, and Workplace Management Tools (e.g., HCL Big Fix, MS SCCM, Citrix VDI, Nexthink) In-depth knowledge of AWS and Azure services and architecture Proficient scripting skills in Python, Shell, or other relevant languages Extensive experience in PC imaging deployment, patch management, and software distribution for desktop and server devices Familiarity with MSI technology, application packaging, deployment processes, and Windows Installer Technology troubleshooting Familiar with infrastructure-as-code tools such as CloudFormation or Terraform Strong understanding of networking concepts and security best practices in AWS and Azure Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems (e.g., Git) Preferred competencies and qualifications MS Server Certification preferred AWS and Azure certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Developer, Azure Administrator, or Azure Solutions Architect are a plus Strong analytical and design skills with sound documentation experience Effective communication skills Self-driven with the ability to work independently in a heterogeneous environment
