Embedded Software Engineer

About the Company Our client is a well-established organization with a strong presence in the transport and infrastructure sector. Responsibilities We are looking for an Embedded Software Engineer to design and develop software for hardware-integrated systems. This role will work on device-level applications that interact with operating systems, peripherals, and communication interfaces, contributing to reliable and high-performance system functionality. Translate system and product requirements into software architecture and detailed design; Develop and maintain embedded software using languages such as C/C++; Work on operating systems such as Linux, RTOS, or similar environments; Implement multi-threading, inter-process communication, and hardware interfacing; Develop communication modules (e.g., socket-based, serial, or network protocols); Optimise performance, reliability, and resource usage of embedded applications; Participate in system integration, debugging, and validation activities; Contribute to documentation including design specifications and technical artefacts; Collaborate with cross-functional teams across software, hardware, and testing. Requirements Degree in Computer Science,Engineering, or a related discipline; Experience in embedded softwaredevelopment using C/C++; Familiarity with operatingsystems such as Linux or RTOS; Strong understanding ofsystem-level programming concepts; Exposure to device-levelintegration or hardware interfacing; Knowledge of softwarearchitecture patterns and UML; Familiarity with cloud-connectedor distributed systems.
