Job Description: Ensure full compliance with operational and safety standards set byterminals, charterers, clients, as well as applicable international and localregulations. Meet all requirements related to marine management, navigation audits, andinspection activities. Plan, coordinate, and oversee audits and inspections conducted byrecognised organisations (RO), including ISM, ISPS, and MLC. Handle the scheduling and management of CDI/SIRE inspections, includingsubmissions through the CDI / OCIMF SIRE platform. Ensure shipboard personnel are competent in their duties and well-versedin the Safety Management System through continuous monitoring, training, andfeedback. Ensure all marine operations are executed safely and efficiently inaccordance with the Safety Management System. Maintain and update all onboard notices, manuals, and publications. Oversee the proper and timely maintenance, servicing, repair, andreplacement of cargo handling and navigation equipment. Ensure all incidents and accidents are thoroughly investigated, with rootcauses identified and corrective/preventive actions implemented. Develop and implement strategies to comply with upcoming marine, safety,and environmental regulations at both international and local levels. Track vessel performance and report operational and safety updates to theFleet Manager / Director. Coordinate and communicate with terminals, charterers, customers, andrelevant third parties on operational matters and inspections. Liaise with P&I insurers to arrange and manage vessel surveys. Allocate responsibilities and supervise subordinates effectively. Organise and distribute resources, including shore-based support, for theMarine Department. Prepare, control, and manage the Marine Department’s budget. Ensure efficient and prudent utilisation of the department’s budget. Participate in the continuous improvement and review of the SafetyManagement System. Act as a member of the Emergency Response Team. Requirements: Education and Qualifications: M.Sc. or B.Sc. in Maritime Studies, Nautical Science, or equivalent; Class1 Marine Master background preferred. Work Experience: At least 5 years of shore-based technical management experience withtankers. Minimum 10 years of sea-going experience, preferably on tanker vessels. Sound understanding of international and local maritime laws andregulations. Strong integrity and professional conduct. Proven leadership, communication, teamwork, and managerial skills. Ability to lead, motivate, and influence teams effectively. Comfortable with vessel visits and travel when required.
