Senior Manager,Academic Department Progression to Assistant Director upon Confirmation Position Summary The Senior Manager, Academic Department is responsible for leading the Academic Department and overseeing academic operations, examinations, curriculum administration, quality assurance, regulatory compliance and university partnerships. The position works closely with the CEO, Academic Board, Examination Board, university partners and regulatory authorities to ensure the effective delivery of academic programmes and continuous improvement of academic quality. Upon successful completion of the three-month probationary period and formal confirmation of employment, the incumbent will be promoted to Assistant Director. Key Responsibilities 1.Academic Operations and Examinations - Lead the daily operations of the Academic Department and manage academic and administrative staff. - Ensure that all academic programmes are effectively delivered in accordance with approved policies and academic requirements. - Manage curriculum development, programme reviews, academic planning, timetabling, staff deployment and teaching resources. - Oversee academic administration and ensure that information maintained in the SMS, LMS and other academic platforms is accurate and up to date. - Manage examination and assessment processes, including scheduling, moderation, Examination Board documentation and the release of approved results. - Oversee academic progression, academic integrity and records, including graduation lists, transcripts, certificates, reassessments and mitigating circumstances. 2.University Partnership Development and Management - Identify and engage prospective university partners and facilitate the establishment of new academic partnerships. - Coordinate partnership proposals, due diligence, negotiations, approvals and supporting agreements. - Serve as the main liaison with university partners, University Link Tutors, External Examiners and Academic Registry personnel. - Coordinate programme validations, reviews, Annual Monitoring Reports, academic governance meetings and other partnership requirements. - Ensure that partnership programmes comply with university agreements, academic regulations and quality assurance requirements. - Oversee SWDA registrations, notifications and supporting submissions for new programmes, renewals and programme changes. 3.Governance, Compliance and Quality Assurance - Ensure compliance with EduTrust, SWDA, university partnership requirements and other applicable regulatory standards. - Maintain academic policies, SOPs, programme documents and regulatory records. - Coordinate EduTrust preparation, quality reviews and internal and external audits. - Prepare regulatory reports, submissions, benchmarking information and audit documentation. - Ensure that Academic Board decisions and corrective actions arising from audits are implemented within the required timelines. - Promote continuous improvement across academic programmes and departmental operations. Requirements - At least 5 years of relevant experience in higher education, private education or academic administration, including management or supervisory experience. - Experience in academic operations, examinations, curriculum administration, quality assurance and university partnership management. - Sound knowledge of EduTrust, SWDA requirements and Singapore’s Private Education Institution regulatory environment. - Able to manage multiple priorities and work effectively with senior management, university partners and regulatory authorities. - Strong leadership, stakeholder management, communication and organisational skills. - Proficiency in both spoken and written English and Mandarin is preferred, as the role may involve liaising with Chinese-speaking university partners and stakeholders.
