Senior Sales Manager (Mice)

You'll have ambition, talent, and, of course, the key skills we're looking for. In this vital role, you will: Monitor competitors' activities and assist in marketing intelligence. Refer sales leads to the appropriate personnel within InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG). Sell to new, existing, and prospective customers in line with the sales strategy while negotiating optimum rates for the benefit of the business. Service existing business through effective account management. Sell all facets of the hotel. Manage corporate head office accounts and maintain the preferred hotel history for each company. Develop and maintain a regular pattern of sales calls, meeting with principals of target markets. Provide direction on, and conduct, market research and analysis. Develop and maintain relationships with business generators, meeting and convention planners, visitors/convention bureaus, travel agents, tour operators, airlines, corporate accounts, government departments, and other business partners closely allied with the hotel. Build the hotel's profile within the local marketplace through participation in events and networking opportunities. Travel when required to promote the hotel and develop potential business. Maintain regular contact with IHG hotels within the region and the regional reservations office. Monitor existing business and contribute to sales strategy meetings to maximise business opportunities. Grow existing business while identifying and pursuing new leads. Liaise with hotel operations in a timely manner. Initiate and prepare tenders for business opportunities. Assess sales and marketing data. Assist in the preparation of new products and services. Assist in evaluating sales and marketing activities. Analyse the sales mix and its likely impact on hotel goals. Implement directions from the Director of Sales & Marketing and Regional Managers. Work with the reporting manager on manpower planning and management needs. Work with the reporting manager in preparing and managing the department's budget. What We Need From You Diploma or Vocational Certificate in Sales & Marketing, Hotel Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
