About the Role We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Customs Specialist to manage customs brokerage operations, trade compliance, and regulatory processes. This role is ideal for someone with strong expertise in Singapore Customs regulations and freight forwarding who is committed to delivering operational excellence, compliance, and exceptional customer service. Key Responsibilities Execute daily customs brokerage activities, ensuring accurate job file creation and timely processing of shipments. Handle customs declarations and permit applications across various import and export procedures. Prepare and manage Certificates of Origin (COO), Carnets, and other trade-related documentation. Respond to customs compliance enquiries and ensure adherence to Singapore Customs regulations. Provide guidance and support to internal stakeholders on customs procedures and trade compliance matters. Monitor and coordinate the performance of external permit processing vendors to ensure service quality and operational efficiency. Manage sub-certificate issuance, billing, and maintain accurate records and registries. Provide operational support for the application and processing of CITES permits when required. Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with all applicable customs and trade regulations. Perform other duties and projects assigned by management. Ideal Candidate Diploma or higher in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transportation, or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience. At least 2 years of experience in freight forwarding and customs brokerage. At least 2 years of experience in trade compliance. Strong understanding of Singapore Customs procedures and formalities. In-depth knowledge of Singapore Customs regulations and compliance requirements. Good knowledge of Harmonized System (HS) Classification of Goods. Good understanding of Incoterms® 2020. Meticulous, responsible, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Preferred: Experience working directly with customers or stakeholders. Knowledge of Certificates of Origin (COO), Rules of Origin, and Strategic Goods Control regulations. Familiarity with the requirements of Singapore regulatory authorities such as SPF, NEA, HSA, CNB, SCDF, and other relevant agencies. Good command of written and spoken English.
