As a Field Service Specialist , you will play a critical role in delivering technical service solutions at customer sites, ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of power systems and equipment. You will serve as a key customer-facing representative, supporting installation, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and service activities while contributing to customer satisfaction and operational excellence. How You'll Make an Impact Perform on-site installation, commissioning, maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, repair, and testing activities for power transformer and electrification products. Execute planned and preventive maintenance activities in accordance with customer requirements, technical standards, and project schedules. Diagnose equipment issues, identify root causes, and provide effective technical solutions to minimize downtime and optimize asset performance. Act as the primary on-site technical contact for customers during service interventions, ensuring professional communication and a high level of customer satisfaction. Collaborate closely with Service Engineering, Project Management, Supply Chain, and other cross-functional teams to prepare service activities, spare parts requirements, and maintenance schedules. Prepare accurate service reports, technical documentation, and recommendations following site visits and service activities. Support warranty claims investigations, equipment assessments, and after-sales service activities to ensure timely resolution of customer concerns. Monitor and ensure compliance with contractual, technical, and quality requirements throughout service execution. Follow and promote Hitachi Energy's Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies, ensuring all field activities are conducted safely and responsibly. Ensure compliance with applicable internal procedures, industry regulations, and customer site requirements. Your Background Tertiary qualification in Engineering, preferably Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering. Minimum 5 years of experience in field service, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, or technical support for power transformers, substations, or electrification equipment. Hands-on experience with High Voltage (HV) equipment is highly desirable; Medium Voltage (MV) and Low Voltage (LV) experience will also be considered. Strong understanding of power transformer systems, electrical equipment, installation practices, testing procedures, and maintenance methodologies. Ability to interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, product drawings, and substation layouts. Experience coordinating field activities, managing service schedules, and supporting service execution in collaboration with customers and internal stakeholders. Knowledge of service processes, safety standards, and industry best practices within power and utility environments. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and make sound technical decisions in the field. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Project Management certification or relevant technical certifications would be an added advantage.
