Responsibilities Perform maintenance and repairs on specialist heavy equipment including reclamation bulldozers, pedestal excavators, triple boom excavators, super long reach excavators, specialist pipe loaders, side booms, and large articulated earth moving trucks. Install, maintain, and repair specialist attachments such as breakers, jaws, clams, grabs, and pumps. Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults using diagnostic tools, service manuals, and personal expertise. Conduct preventive maintenance and scheduled servicing to reduce equipment failure and extend service life. Rebuild specialist components including engines, transmissions, and hydraulic pumps to restore equipment performance. Maintain accurate maintenance logs and service records to support compliance and operational tracking. Participate in weekly online workshop meetings to discuss technical issues and share solutions. Collaborate with international technical experts to resolve complex on-site issues effectively. Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and manufacturer standards to maintain a safe working environment. Train and assess operators to ensure correct equipment operation, minimizing wear and damage. Mentor local mechanics and service technicians to build in-house capacity and technical expertise. Report major equipment failures and part requirements to workshop procurement for timely planning and sourcing. Maintain tools and equipment in clean, functional condition to support efficient maintenance activities. Support emergency breakdown repairs and field service work to restore equipment functionality promptly. Required competencies and certifications Technical diploma or trade certification in heavy equipment or diesel mechanics. OEM training or certification (e.g., CAT Level II/III factory training). Minimum 20 years of experience with heavy machinery and/or cranes. Minimum 5 years of experience working with at least 3 of the following specialist plants: reclamation bulldozer, pedestal excavators, triple boom excavators, super long reach excavators, specialist pipe loaders, side booms, and large articulated earth moving trucks. Minimum 5 years of experience working with specialist attachments Minimum 3 years of experience working on international job sites with multicultural teams. Experience with OEM brands such as Caterpillar, Komatsu, Hitachi, Volvo, or similar. Experience working in international or remote site environments. Ability to troubleshoot and repair different types of heavy equipment. Excellent English communication skills in writing and speaking. Strong computer skills for reporting and analysis. Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems). Familiarity with OEM diagnostic systems and toolkits. Leadership experience with strong supervisory skills. Good physical condition with ability to perform demanding tasks. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to adapt to different cultural work environments, remote work environments.
