Role overview The person need to act as a strategicadvisor who has deep retail industry knowledge to advice client stakeholders onsolving industry problems, bridging the gap between deep operational retailknowledge and high-level business transformation. The Retail SME leverages extensive industryexperience to help clients identify operational gaps, navigate marketdisruptions (such as AI-driven personalization), and implement data-drivensolutions to improve profitability and customer experience. Key Responsibilities Industry Expertise & Domain Knowledge : The person need to have experience in e‑commerce backend systems, marketplace operations, logistics/3PL coordination, and cross‑functional work with Commercial, Planning, Finance, and Ops. Strategic Advisory: Lead Consulting assessments of retail operations, identifying areas for growth and crafting tailored recommendations for transformation intervention and efficiency improvement Process Optimization: Redesign workflows to improve efficiency in areas such as merchandising, store layout, inventory management, and workforce productivity. Digital Transformation: Advise the client in selection and integration of technology stacks involving e-commerce platforms, POS systems, and analytics solutions for retail operations &forecasting. Implementation & Support: Manage end-to-end consulting engagements, from initial feasibility to "Go-Live" support to post-launch performance monitoring. Stakeholder Management: Facilitate workshops and training sessions for senior client stakeholders and present actionable insights to C-suite executives. Business case & Roadmap: Person should be thorough with business case creation, doing TCO analysis and prepare transformation roadmap for the cliet Required Skills & Qualifications Experience: Typically15+ years in retail management or retail consulting with a proven track record of driving impactful change. Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of retail business models& business processes involving e‑commerce, marketplace operations, logistics and emerging trends like sustainability Technical Proficiency: Skilled in retail management software, ERP systems (SAP IS Retail), and CRM tools Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving, persuasion, and negotiation abilities, alongsideexcellent verbal and written communication skills. Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Business or Retail Management is usually required; an MBA or professional certification is highly preferred.
