About the Company Our client is the technology services arm of a global logistics and supply chain group, supporting IT infrastructure and security operations across regional and international business units. They're investing in network modernization and transformation as part of a broader push to harden and scale their global IT operations. Roles & Responsibilities Reporting to the Manager of Network Engineering and Operations. This role is a key individual within the Infrastructure Technology team providing technical expertise and support on network infrastructure operations, engineering and governance. The Network Engineer will work with external technology vendors, System Integrators (SI), hosting service providers and internal IT groups and business units to provide technical expertise on global network design and global network operations and involved in network transformation and modernization initiatives. The role will provide support for day-to-day global network operations. This role requires regular on-site presence to support infrastructure operations and collaboration with stakeholders. The incumbent is also expected to be available to respond to network incidents, including participating in on-call rotations or providing after-hours support when required, to ensure timely resolution of critical issues and minimize service disruptions. Provide L2 network support. Provide 24/7 support for any network and security related high severity incidents. Develop and drive IT Service Management strategy for IT Operations, namely, Incident, Problem, Request and Change Management. Closely collaborates with IT infrastructure teams, Information Security team, IT application teams and other peers on architecture, solutions and network operations. Design, implement, and maintain network architectures that meet business objectives and service level agreements (SLAs). Perform routine network maintenance tasks, including applying patches, hot fixes, and security configurations. Monitor system resource utilization, trends, and capacity planning. Ensure system availability and reliability by monitoring performance and addressing any issues promptly. Configure and install various network devices and services, including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, wireless components, VPNs, and quality of service (QoS) components. Ensure stability and availability of Network SDWAN Infrastructure through application of ITSM best practices and continuous improvement and by co-ordinating with the managed services vendor. Manage communication, user training and documentation for SDWAN/Network processes and tools related to IT Network Operations. Co-ordinate with the service providers to maintain and manage the Data centre operations, internet circuits, P2P links, Content Delivery Network solutions. Co-ordinate with managed service vendors to maintain and manage unified communications solutions. Qualification and Requirements Bachelor’s degree in IT or equivalent experience. Minimum 3-5 years of experience in configuring and managing Cisco nexus switches, Cisco catalyst switches, routers, load balancers and Cisco / Meraki wireless solutions. Experience in configuring and managing routing protocols. At least 3-4 years hands on engineering, support, projects or operations experience in infrastructure, network and network security. Good knowledge on SDWAN solution. Knowledge on Content delivery network, SASE solutions, VPNs and Firewalls would be an added advantage. Good understanding on the ITIL process. Superior problem solving and Troubleshooting skills. Excellent Reporting and Communication skills. Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in high-pressure situations with guidance. Positive and professional working attitude, ability to work as a team or as an individual. Network certifications such as CCNA & security product(s) certifications are desirable.
