We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Accountant to support the Chief Accountant in managing the company's accounting operations and ensuring accurate financial reporting. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting activities, maintaining full sets of accounts, performing reconciliations, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with internal policies and statutory requirements. Experience in retail industry will be an advantage. Key Responsibilities Manage and maintain full sets of accounts, including Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), General Ledger (GL), and bank transactions. Perform daily bank reconciliations, cash reconciliations, and monitor cash flow movements. Review and reconcile daily sales transactions, including cash, credit card, debit card, NETS, PayNow, and other payment modes. Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and other accounting adjustments. Process supplier payments, telegraphic transfers (TT), cheque payments, and staff reimbursements. Monitor accounts receivable and accounts payable ageing and follow up on outstanding balances. Reconcile branch accounts, inter-company transactions, and related-party balances. Prepare monthly schedules and supporting documents for month-end closing. Assist the Chief Accountant in preparing management reports, financial statements, and variance analysis. Maintain proper accounting records and ensure all supporting documents are accurately filed and organized. Assist in GST preparation, audits, tax matters, and statutory compliance requirements. Liaise with suppliers, customers, banks, auditors, and external parties on accounting-related matters. Support the Chief Accountant in implementing and improving accounting procedures and internal controls. Guide and provide support to junior accounting staff when required. Undertake any other duties assigned by the Chief Accountant or Management. Job Requirements Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a recognized professional accounting qualification. Minimum 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience. Experience in retail industry is an advantage. Strong knowledge of accounting principles and Singapore GST requirements. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software. Meticulous, organized, and able to work under tight deadlines. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Able to work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating effectively within a team.
