Malaysia Base CNC Precision - Manufacturing Manager (Penang) Job Overview We are a leading CNC Precision Manufacturing organization located in the premier industrial hub of Penang, Malaysia . We are seeking a highly strategic, technically astute, and results-oriented Manufacturing Manager to head our precision machining operations. In this role, you will lead our high-tech manufacturing floor, overseeing advanced CNC machining (multi-axis milling, turning, and turn-mill processes) for demanding industries such as semiconductor, aerospace, medical devices, or electronics. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between technical execution and business engineering—driving operational excellence, scale, and a world-class safety culture. Position Details Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent Work Location: Penang, Malaysia (Simpang Ampat industrial zones) Working Hours: 5 days per week Salary Range: RM 15,000 – RM 20,000 Hostel Provided (Commensurate with experience and technical leadership capability) Key Responsibilities 1. Strategic Operations & Production Leadership Direct and oversee all daily activities of the CNC precision manufacturing floor to ensure production schedules, volume targets, and shipment deadlines are met. Optimize plant capacity, manpower distribution, and equipment utilization (OEE) across production shifts to achieve maximum cost-efficiency. Establish, monitor, and deliver on critical operational manufacturing KPIs, including Scrap Rates, Yield Recovery, Unit Cost, and On-Time Delivery (OTD). 2. CNC Technical Management & Quality Excellence Ensure advanced components are manufactured to exact engineering drawings, featuring tight tolerances and strict Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) specifications. Collaborate closely with NPI (New Product Introduction), programming, and tooling engineering teams to optimize cycle times, fixture designs, and machining methodologies. Enforce robust quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100, or ISO 13485 depending on business unit requirements). Lead root-cause analysis (8D, Five Whys) for any dimensional deviations or surface finish issues, implementing immediate Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA). 3. Smart Factory, Lean & Continuous Improvement Champion Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and Continuous Improvement (Kaizen) projects to eliminate waste, streamline setups (SMED), and reduce operational bottlenecks. Drive digital shop-floor tracking or Industry 4.0 initiatives (e.g., real-time machine monitoring, MES tracking) where applicable. 4. Maintenance, Tooling & Asset Management Oversee Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) programs to ensure critical multi-axis CNC machines and high-precision inspection tools experience minimal unplanned downtime. Manage operational budgets for tooling consumables (inserts, cutters, jigs) and raw materials to maintain lean inventory workflows. 5. Talent Development & EHS Compliance Lead, mentor, and build the technical capabilities of production supervisors, CNC engineers, and master machinists. Uphold world-class occupational safety standards, ensuring complete compliance with DOSH regulations, zero-accident goals, and proper hazard/PPE governance. Job Requirements Education & Experience Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Precision, or Aerospace Engineering, or an equivalent technical discipline. Minimum 8+ years of hands-on experience in a precision CNC machining or tool-and-die environment, with at least 4 years in a distinct managerial role . Proven experience navigating Penang's local manufacturing ecosystem or supplying international high-tech sectors. Technical & Personal Skills Deep technical mastery of advanced CNC equipment (e.g., Mazak, Mori Seiki, Makino, Fanuc or Heidenhain controls), including 3-to-5 axis setups. Flawless proficiency in reading highly intricate blueprint drawings and a robust grasp of GD&T. Familiarity handling precision materials (exotic alloys, titanium, stainless steel, aluminum, engineering plastics). Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Languages: Full professional proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
