Associate Director, Esg Consulting (Transition & Transformation)

As part of our growing ESG Consulting team, you will work alongside experienced professionals to help clients navigate complex sustainability and business transformation challenges. About This Role We are seeking an experienced Associate Director to join our Transition & Transformation practice. In this role, you will lead consulting engagements that help organisations integrate sustainability into business strategy, operations and transformation initiatives. Working closely with senior client stakeholders across the public and private sectors, you will design and deliver practical, commercially viable solutions that enhance organisational resilience, operational performance and long-term value creation. Beyond client delivery, you will contribute to business development, thought leadership and the continued growth of KPMG's ESG Consulting practice. Be in front of change. Lead transformation. Key Responsibilities • Lead and manage consulting engagements from proposal development through project delivery. • Advise clients on sustainability-led transformation, climate transition planning and operating model improvement initiatives. • Manage project scope, resources, timelines and quality to deliver successful client outcomes. • Develop transformation roadmaps and implementation strategies that support business and sustainability objectives. • Build trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders and identify opportunities for broader collaboration across KPMG. • Contribute to business development activities, proposals and client presentations. • Coach and develop junior team members while fostering collaboration across teams. • Support the development of new service offerings, methodologies and thought leadership initiatives. Requirements • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, Environmental Science, Sustainability, Economics, Public Policy or a related discipline. • More than 10 years of relevant experience in consulting, transformation, sustainability or industry roles. • Demonstrated experience leading complex transformation programmes from strategy development through implementation. • Proven track record managing consulting engagements and working with senior business stakeholders, including C-suite executives and government agencies. • Experience within a professional services or consulting environment will be advantageous. • Strong commercial acumen with experience in business development, proposal writing and client relationship management. • Ability to manage project financials, resources and delivery outcomes. • Strong analytical, problem-solving and strategic thinking capabilities. • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior decision-makers. • Confident leading multidisciplinary teams in a dynamic consulting environment. • Collaborative, entrepreneurial and passionate about sustainability, transformation and creating meaningful impact. • Experience in one or more of the following areas: • Climate transition planning • Sustainability strategy and implementation • Enterprise transformation • Operating model design • Business process optimisation • Value chain transformation • Programme and change management • ESG governance, reporting or sustainability risk management
