Business Development Manager (Industrial Precious Metals Recycling) We are looking for a commercially driven Business Development Manager to lead our business development function and drive growth in the sourcing of gold, silver, and platinum group metals (PGMs) from industrial scrap. This role is focused on identifying and developing high-value customers across Singapore and selected regional markets, building commercially viable opportunities, collaborating closely with internal teams to design practical recovery solutions, and converting leads into profitable, long-term business relationships. Key Responsibilities 1. Strategic Growth & Market Development Identify, prioritise, and develop high-potential industries and key accounts in Singapore and targeted regional markets, with a focus on electronics, semiconductors, electroplating, and related industrial sectors. Develop and execute market penetration strategies to expand industrial sourcing channels and strengthen long-term customer partnerships. Stay up to date with relevant regulations, environmental compliance requirements, Anti-Money Laundering (AML)/Know Your Customer (KYC) obligations, and market trends impacting sourcing activities. 2. Business Acquisition & Customer Development Build and manage a strong pipeline of industrial prospects and strategic accounts. Identify, evaluate, and qualify sourcing opportunities based on commercial viability and alignment with business objectives. Collaborate with the Laboratory team to assess material recovery feasibility and commercial potential. Prepare and deliver compelling proposals and presentations to secure long-term supply agreements. Manage the full business development lifecycle, from prospecting and negotiation through to contract closure and account growth. Expand existing accounts by driving repeat and incremental business opportunities. 3. Team Leadership & Commercial Execution Lead, structure, and develop the business development team to achieve revenue, gross profit, and pipeline targets. Set clear weekly and monthly KPIs, conduct regular deal reviews, and provide hands-on coaching to strengthen execution and commercial discipline. Act as a player-coach by directly managing strategic accounts and high-value deals. 4. Commercial Governance & Cross-Functional Collaboration Negotiate commercially sound pricing structures, collection terms, and contract conditions aligned with profitability targets. Ensure full compliance with KYC requirements and internal risk management policies. Work closely with Laboratory, Operations, Finance, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth execution and high-quality customer service delivery. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field preferred. Minimum 5 years of B2B sales or business development experience, ideally within precious metals, recycling, or related industries. Proven track record in acquiring industrial clients and closing profitable commercial deals. Experience leading and developing sales or business development teams. Strong commercial acumen, negotiation ability, and confident presentation skills. Analytical and inquisitive mindset with the ability to understand customer operations, identify risks, and propose practical solutions. Familiarity with Singapore and regional industrial markets will be an advantage.
