About this role
Design and develop mechanical assemblies and automation modules for robotic systems, test stations, and Autonomous Mobile Robot (AMR) platforms. Apply DFM/DFA principles to enhance manufacturability, reliability, and maintainability of mechanical and electro-mechanical assemblies. Produce and release detailed 3D models, fabrication drawings, and assembly documentation in compliance with internal design and revision control standards. Integrate mechanical systems with pneumatics, electrical wiring, control panels, and robot interfaces to achieve seamless system operation. Conduct design validation and motion performance testing, including load verification, precision alignment, and endurance trials. Participate in prototype fabrication and system integration, performing mechanical assembly, calibration, and fine-tuning of automation setups. Manage Bill of Materials (BOM), technical specifications, and Engineering Change Orders (ECO) for design revisions and configuration control. Support proof-of-concept development and mechanical evaluation for automation and AMR system enhancements. Collaborate closely with electrical, controls, and software engineers to ensure proper interfacing between mechanical design and overall system functionality. Provide technical drawings, documentation, and build instructions to assist manufacturing, procurement, and assembly teams. Assist in on-site assembly, commissioning, and acceptance testing, ensuring systems meet mechanical and functional requirements. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in design workflow, documentation standards, and modular component design. Job Requirements: Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related discipline. Fresh graduates and candidates with up to several years of experience in automation machinery, robotics, or AMR design are encouraged to apply. Proficiency in SolidWorks for 3D modelling, assembly, and detailed drawing preparation; experience with motion simulation or FEA analysis is advantageous. Familiar with precision mechanical components such as linear guides, actuators, bearings, and motion systems. Experience with pneumatic components, robotic end-effectors, AMR mechanical systems, or docking mechanisms is a plus. Understanding of PLC-controlled systems, electro-mechanical interfacing, and sensor integration. Hands-on experience in prototype assembly, troubleshooting, and system alignment preferred. Strong problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills. Independent, detail-oriented, and capable of working effectively in a multi-disciplinary engineering team environment.
