Piano Teacher (Full Time) (Singapore - NORTHEAST) Position Overview We are seeking a skilled, passionate, and dedicated Piano Teacher to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for instructing and guiding students of various ages and skill levels in the art of piano performance and music theory. You will play a pivotal role in nurturing musical talent, fostering a lifelong love for music, and helping students develop strong technical proficiency and musical understanding. Key Responsibilities 1. Instruction & Pedagogy • Plan and deliver engaging, structured piano lessons tailored to each student’s age, skill level, individual goals, and examination requirements. • Teach fundamental piano techniques, including proper posture, hand positioning, finger independence, and sight-reading. • Introduce and reinforce music theory concepts, including notation, rhythm, scales, and harmony. • Select appropriate, motivating repertoire to challenge students while aligning with their technical development. 2. Assessment & Feedback • Evaluate student progress through regular assessments, practice assignments, mock exams, and studio recitals. • Provide constructive, encouraging feedback to help students identify areas for improvement and set achievable goals. • Adapt teaching methodologies and instructional materials to suit individual learning styles and needs. 3. Student Preparation & Recitals • Prepare students for graded music examinations (e.g., ABRSM, Trinity), auditions, and competitions. • Organize and facilitate student recitals and performances to showcase progress and build performance confidence. 4. Communication & Professional Relations • Maintain clear, open communication with students and parents/guardians regarding lesson progress, practice routines, and examination timelines. • Collaborate with parents to establish effective home practice schedules. • Offer basic guidance on piano care, maintenance, and purchasing/keyboard recommendations. 5. Professionalism & Administration • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, lesson plans, and progress reports. • Assist with basic studio administration, scheduling, and operational duties as required. • Stay updated on current examination board syllabi, pedagogical methodologies, and music education trends. • Demonstrate a professional demeanor, punctuality, and reliability in all interactions. Qualifications & Requirements • Music Proficiency: Advanced piano performance capability (Diploma/Degree in Music Performance/Education preferred, or Grade 8 Practical & Theory qualification). • Teaching Experience: Proven track record of teaching piano in one-on-one or group settings. • Pedagogical Skills: Solid understanding of music theory, piano repertoire, and effective teaching methods across different age groups. • Core Competencies: o Exceptional patience, enthusiasm, and a genuine passion for music education. o Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students and parents. o Ability to create a positive, nurturing, and structured learning environment. o Reliability, strong organizational skills, and teamwork capability.
