Senior Executive/(Senior) Asst Director, Legal Technology Transformation Office

The Legal Technology Transformation Office (LTTO) is a division within MinLaw’s Legal Industry Group (LIG) that develops strategies and implements initiatives to enable law practices and legal professionals to harness technology in a safe, responsible and sustainable manner, supported by quality infrastructure and a thriving legaltech ecosystem. You will be part of the team that works with the Legal Industry and Talent Development Division (LITD), Legal Partnerships and Futures Division (LPFD), and other internal and external stakeholders to promote the adoption of legaltech and drive industry capability enablement through: • Horizon scanning to identify emerging technologies and opportunities for the legal sector to leverage them to enhance the delivery of legal services. • Driving sector-wide strategies and products to strengthen Singapore’s legal data infrastructure and empower the legal sector to innovate and use technology with confidence. • Developing initiatives to promote and enable the sustainable adoption of legaltech to improve productivity and working with key partners to support law practices to implement them. • Coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to enhance access to justice through technology adoption and capability building. Your key responsibilities will include: • Engaging stakeholders (e.g. law practices, legaltech vendors) to monitor the latest technological developments, and gather feedback on policies and trends to inform LTTO’s initiatives. • Designing new policies or programmes and/or administering existing policies or programmes to enable law practices and legal professionals to discover legaltech, adopt solutions and build digital capabilities. • Reviewing existing initiatives and recommending changes (if necessary) to address challenges faced by industry, enhance support for the legal sector and/or improve operational efficiency. *Key Competencies* • [Systems Thinking]: Connect issues with larger system and identify inter-dependencies across issues/ domains/ agencies • [Deep Critical Thinking]: Distil critical issues and sense-make from a wide range of information, arriving at effective policy solutions • [Co-create and Co-deliver with External Stakeholders]: Mobilize citizens and stakeholder to co-create and co-deliver solutions to policy issues *Work Experience/Personal Traits* • Strong analytical skills to distil complex issues, synthesise various policy objectives and propose evidence-based recommendations. • An interest in policy development as well as strong planning and executional abilities to oversee multiple projects. • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence and collaborate with multiple stakeholders. • Well organised and able to innovate and be creative in problem-solving. • Ability to work well independently as well as in a team. • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and present to a non-technical audience. • Prior experience in Singapore’s legal industry (law firm, legaltech firm, law-related organisations) or policy development would be an advantage. Successful candidates will be offered a 1-year contract in the first instance, subject to renewal. #LI-SW1
