What the role is The Business Analyst is responsible for analysing business processes, identify areas for improvement, and developing solutions to enhance business operations. In this role, you will work with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into users stories. You will also work with developers to implement new systems and ensure that they align with the needs of the business. What you will be working on • Analyse business requirements: Work with stakeholders to gather and refine the business needs, challenges and goals for a new or existing IT system. • Design new systems: Develop user stories and tender requirement for new systems, including the software requirements, and user interfaces. • Develop and implement new systems: Collaborate with developers and vendors to implement new systems and ensure that they are meeting the needs of the business. • Test new systems: Test new systems to ensure that they are working as expected and meeting all requirements. • Provide training and support to users: Train users on how to use new systems and provide support as needed. • Monitor and maintain systems: Monitor systems to ensure that they are performing as expected and make necessary enhancement changes request. • Data migration: Work with developers and vendors to migrate existing data to new systems/platforms and provide data verification support. • Recommend technology solutions to improve user processes and experience. • Stay up-to-date on the latest technologies: Stay up-to-date on the latest IT technologies and trends to ensure that the organisation is using the best possible solutions. Key competencies Required: • [Domain Specific Expertise]: Develop domain knowledge to collaborate and/or co-create policy solutions with experts/professionals • [Deep Critical Thinking]: Distil critical issues and sense-make from a wide range of information, arriving at effective policy solutions • [Clear and Concise Writing]: Crystalise core issues via clear and concise writing • [Service Tech Innovation and Application]: Use technologies to automate and deliver day-to-day service operations and improve work efficiency Qualifications/Work Experience/Personal Traits: • Academic training in computer science, information systems, or a related field. • At least 3 years of experience in business analysis, new system development or a related field. • Strong understanding of business process analysis and design. • Strong understanding of IT systems and technologies. • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Must be organised and able to work with minimal supervision to ensure projects are on schedule. • Experience with RPA and other automation technologies. • Experience with agile/waterfall development methodologies. • Experience with project management tools and techniques. Successful candidates will be appointed on a 1-year contract.
