For over two decades, we have been designing human-led experiences with creative rigour, applied empathy and production excellence, across our three service pillars of Content &Communications, Events & Spaces, and People & Culture. We are now entering a new phase of growth, and are looking for individuals with the right skillset, mindset and heartset to join us on our stage as we perform for our clients to produce work that will move people into action. The Role As Account Director, you are the primary relationship between Motion and our clients. You are the operational force that ensures what we promise gets delivered with excellence. You sit at the intersection of client confidence and high-impact execution. As the primary architect of our events, you will oversee every aspect from inception to execution, protecting the integrity of the work under budget and timeline pressures, ensuring seamless delivery and exceeding client expectations. Reporting to the Founder & CEO, you will partner closely with our team members to craft and deliver ideas, outcomes and outputs with our ecosystem of partners to deliver impactful work that drives business results. Key Responsibilities ● Client Relationship Management ○ Serve as primary point of contact for senior client stakeholders across Motion’s portfolio of brands ○ Build and maintain trusted, lasting relationships that can withstand scope changes, pivots and the pressures of live-event delivery ○ Proactively manage client expectations at every stage of a project, ensuring confidence is earned in the lead-up to execution ● Brief Translation, Pitching &Cross-Functional Coordination ○ Convert client’s commercial and brand objectives into clear, actionable briefs that the creative and design team can execute with confidence ○ Translate design constraints, production realities and creative decisions back into language that clients can understand and act on ○ Hold the connection between client, creative and production teams throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring alignment ○ Work closely with our Business Development Director to lead client presentations and concept pitches, bringing non-creative prospects into the work with confidence, clarity and a compelling narrative ● Project Management & Commercial Stewardship ○ Oversee end-to-end project delivery: vendor coordination, site logistics, run-of-show management, timeline governance, and budget oversight ○ Deploy the right resources to each project, managing capability to brief, and ensuring workload is distributed with operational intelligence ○ Own scoping, quotating and margin management across account portfolio: maintaining full budget visibility throughout project lifecycles, flagging variances early, managing change-orders and protecting margins while maintaining client trust ○ Negotiate with vendors on costs and terms, and with clients on scope, timeline and budget trade-offs to find outcomes that protect both the work and the relationship ○ Build and execute contingency plans across vendors, venues and run-of-show, anticipating failure points before they materialise and quality-checking all components before go-live ○ Be calm, decisive presence on event days, making fast, clear decisions with composure and leading onsite team with authority and care—clear roles and escalation paths ● Team Leadership & Development ○ Lead and develop a growing team of events executives, providing meaningful development conversations beyond task direction; investing in long-term capability of the team, not just immediate deliverables Requirements Skillset ● At least 8-10 years of experience in events, creative, experiential, or integrated agencies ● At least 3-5 years in a senior client leadership or account leadership role ● A proven track record of managing complex client relationships and large-scale projects end-to-end ● Strong commercial acumen with experience in revenue growth and account expansion ● Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills ● Strong unders…
