Position Overview As a Cook – Catering Operations , you will play an important role in the daily preparation, production and presentation of food while maintaining the highest standards of quality, food safety and hygiene. Working alongside our Head Chef and kitchen leadership team, you will help deliver meals that consistently exceed customer expectations while contributing to an efficient, well-organized and collaborative kitchen. Key Responsibilities Food Preparation & Production · Prepare and cook food in accordance with approved recipes, production schedules and quality standards. · Ensure all food is prepared consistently, safely and presented to Company standards. · Support both institutional and corporate catering operations as required. · Assist with mise en place, production planning and daily kitchen operations. Kitchen Operations · Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout all kitchen areas. · Ensure all equipment is operated safely and maintained appropriately. · Assist with stock rotation (FIFO), inventory management and receiving deliveries. · Minimize food wastage and support effective cost control initiatives. Food Safety & Compliance · Maintain the highest standards of food hygiene and personal cleanliness. · Comply with all SFA food safety requirements, HACCP procedures and Company SOPs. · Ensure safe handling, storage and labelling of all food products. · Report any food safety or operational concerns promptly. Teamwork & Leadership · Work closely with the Head Chef, Kitchen Manager and wider kitchen team to achieve daily production targets. · Support and guide junior kitchen staff where required. · Foster a positive, respectful and collaborative working environment. · Contribute ideas to improve kitchen efficiency and food quality. Other Duties · Perform any other duties assigned by the Head Chef, Kitchen Manager or Management that are consistent with the role. What We're Looking For Education · Minimum Secondary School education (N-Level, O-Level or equivalent) and / or · Culinary qualification (WSQ, NITEC, Certificate in Culinary Skills or equivalent) is an advantage but not essential. Experience · Minimum 1–2 years' experience in a commercial kitchen, catering operation, restaurant, hotel or institutional kitchen. · Experience in high-volume food production is an advantage. Skills & Knowledge · Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations. · Good understanding of food hygiene, food safety and safe kitchen practices. · Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen environment. · Physically fit and able to stand for extended periods and perform manual handling tasks. · Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing quality food consistently. Language · Able to speak, read and understand basic English to follow recipes, production schedules, food safety procedures and workplace instructions. Certifications · Possess a valid Food Safety Course Level 1 (formerly Basic Food Hygiene Certificate) or be willing to obtain certification upon employment.
