We are looking for a Project Officer to support research in AI-enabled seismic data processing. The role will focus on leading fieldwork operations, overseeing seismic data acquisition, developing and applying AI-based tools for seismic data preprocessing, and ensuring high-quality datasets for subsequent seismic imaging and geophysical analysis. Key Responsibilities: Lead geophysical fieldwork, including the planning, deployment, operation, and maintenance of seismic equipment for field data acquisition. Develop and implement AI-based methods for seismic data preprocessing, including data quality control, denoising, and signal enhancement. Manage and curate seismic datasets, ensuring data integrity, quality, and compliance with project requirements. Support the development and optimization of seismic data processing workflows for advanced seismic imaging and subsurface characterization. Assist in the analysis and interpretation of seismic data and contribute to research on geophysical imaging and artificial intelligence. Prepare technical documentation, reports, and research publications, and present research findings at project meetings when required. Collaborate effectively with researchers, students, and external collaborators to support the successful delivery of project objectives and other related duties assigned by the Principal Investigator. Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, artificial intelligence, data science, mathematics, software engineering, or a related discipline. Strong programming skills in Python and experience with software development for data analysis or machine learning applications. Knowledge of artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques. Experience with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow is highly desirable. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop computational solutions for scientific research problems. Willingness to learn geophysical field survey techniques, seismic data acquisition, and seismic data processing workflows. Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary research environment. Self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a research team.
