Job Description The Research Assistant will join Dr. Anand Jeyasekharan's (ADJ) Laboratory at the Cancer Science Institute of Singapore to support translational cancer research focused on understanding how DNA damage and chemotherapy activate anti-tumour immune responses. The role involves conducting laboratory experiments, analysing research data, and contributing to projects that aim to develop innovative chemotherapy-immunotherapy strategies and predictive biomarkers for cancer treatment. Key Responsibilities Perform molecular and cellular biology experiments under supervision. Maintain mammalian cell cultures, including epithelial and lymphoma cell lines. Conduct laboratory techniques such as:Cell viability and proliferation assaysDNA/RNA extractionPCR/qPCRWestern blottingFlow cytometry (where applicable)Immunofluorescence and immunohistochemistry Assist in experiments investigating DNA damage responses and immune activation pathways. Support quantitative microscopy and imaging analyses. Process and document human clinical samples in accordance with institutional guidelines. Record, organize and analyse experimental data accurately. Prepare reagents, maintain laboratory inventory and ensure proper equipment maintenance. Follow laboratory safety regulations and good laboratory practices. Assist in manuscript preparation, presentations and other research-related activities as required. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, Molecular Biology, Immunology, Biochemistry or a related discipline. Prior laboratory experience in molecular or cell biology techniques is preferred. Experience with mammalian cell culture and basic molecular biology techniques would be advantageous. Familiarity with immunology or cancer biology is an advantage but not essential. Good organizational, communication and documentation skills. Able to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary research team.
