Manufacturing Cost Engineer

Key Responsibilities Prepare accurate product quotations based on customer drawings, specifications, and technical requirements. Analyze manufacturing processes, material requirements, labor hours, and production costs to develop competitive quotations. Review new product designs and collaborate with Engineering, Production, and Purchasing teams to determine manufacturing feasibility. Create and maintain product Bills of Materials (BOM), ensuring material accuracy and cost optimization. Source and obtain quotations from suppliers for raw materials, standard components, and outsourced processes. Coordinate with suppliers and internal departments to ensure timely completion of quotation activities. Prepare cost breakdowns, profitability analyses, and quotation summaries for management approval. Support New Product Introduction (NPI) by evaluating manufacturing costs and process requirements. Maintain quotation records, cost databases, and standard costing information. Assist in process improvement initiatives to reduce manufacturing costs and improve quotation efficiency. Support engineering change requests (ECO/ECN) by updating quotation and cost information. Perform other duties as assigned by the Engineering Manager or Management. Requirements Diploma or above in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. 2–5 years of experience in quotation engineering, cost estimation, manufacturing engineering, or NPI. Ability to interpret engineering drawings, BOMs, and technical specifications. Knowledge of machining, welding, sheet metal fabrication, precision assembly, and semiconductor manufacturing processes is an advantage. Good understanding of manufacturing cost analysis and supplier sourcing. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple quotations within tight deadlines. Willing to work in Changi North Crescent
