We are partnering with an established manufacturing organisation to appoint a Quality Manager to lead the company's Quality Assurance, Quality Control, and compliance functions across its production operations. Reporting to senior management, this leadership role will be responsible for driving the organisation's Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring products consistently meet customer expectations, regulatory requirements, and internal quality standards. The successful candidate will oversee quality systems, manufacturing quality performance, audit programmes, supplier quality, customer quality, and continuous improvement initiatives to support operational excellence. As the key quality representative, you will collaborate closely with manufacturing, engineering, supply chain, customers, suppliers, and external auditors to foster a strong quality culture and deliver sustainable business performance. This role is ideal for a hands-on quality leader with a strong background in manufacturing and a passion for continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS). Establish and maintain quality policies, procedures, standards, and work instructions to ensure product consistency and process compliance. Ensure compliance with customer requirements, regulatory standards, and internal quality policies. Monitor and analyse quality KPIs, identifying trends and driving improvement initiatives. Lead Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) activities across manufacturing operations. Implement effective inspection, testing, and process control systems throughout production. Investigate quality issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). Manage non-conforming materials and products, ensuring timely containment and resolution. Lead internal, supplier, customer, and certification audits to maintain compliance and audit readiness. Serve as the primary quality contact for customers and suppliers, ensuring effective communication and issue resolution. Drive supplier quality improvement initiatives and support incoming material quality management. Champion continuous improvement programmes to enhance product quality, reduce waste, and improve manufacturing efficiency. Partner closely with Production, Engineering, Supply Chain, Procurement, and Commercial teams to achieve operational and quality objectives. Develop and coach the Quality team while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Management, Industrial Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related discipline. At least 8 years of experience in Quality Assurance, Quality Control, or Quality Management within a manufacturing environment. Proven experience managing Quality Management Systems (QMS), quality audits, and manufacturing compliance programmes. Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and quality management methodologies. Experience in customer complaint management, root cause analysis, CAPA, and continuous improvement. Sound understanding of manufacturing processes, quality control systems, and operational excellence principles. Experience leading internal, external, customer, and supplier audits. Demonstrated leadership experience managing quality teams and influencing cross-functional stakeholders. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Experience in industrial manufacturing, engineered products, consumer packaging, materials processing, or other process manufacturing environments will be advantageous. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance.
