Job Summary: The Presales Engineer (Structured Cabling) develops technical proposals and solution designs for structured cabling infrastructure, supporting client opportunities across company core industry segments, including semiconductor, pharmaceutical, and data centre facilities. This role covers the full range of proposal work, from BOQ preparation and site surveys through to system design, client engagement, and testing/certification planning. Key Responsibilities: Develop technical proposals for structured cabling systems, including Bills of Quantities (BOQs), cable schedules, and product datasheets. Conduct site surveys to assess infrastructure requirements and translate findings into practical cabling designs. Prepare cabling schematics, pathway and containment layouts, and system design documentation to support client proposals. Design solutions in line with recognized cabling standards (e.g. TIA/EIA, ISO/IEC 11801) and vendor certification programmes (e.g. Panduit, CommScope, Systimax), using these as reference points to guide design decisions. Plan and specify cable testing and certification requirements, including testing methodology (e.g. Fluke testing) and vendor warranty registration processes. Engage directly with clients, consultants, and M&E engineers to understand requirements and present technical solutions. Handle RFQs and bids across a range of project scales, from single-site standard fit-outs to more complex, higher-density environments. Collaborate closely with engineering, project delivery, and sales teams to ensure proposed designs are deliverable and aligned with client needs. Support internal knowledge-sharing on cabling standards, vendor updates, and design best practices. Job Requirements: Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related technical discipline. 3–7 years of relevant experience in structured cabling, whether in a technical/installation background or existing presales exposure. Working knowledge of structured cabling standards and practices (e.g. TIA/EIA, ISO/IEC 11801, BICSI guidelines), with familiarity in vendor platforms such as Panduit, CommScope, or Systimax considered an advantage rather than a requirement. Experience with, or exposure to, cable testing and certification processes. Good command of English for technical documentation and client communication. Comfortable working within Singapore-based site visits as part of the role. Strong client engagement mindset. Effective communicator across cross-functional teams (engineering, sales, project delivery). A collaborative team player. Curious and innovative in approach to problem-solving and technical learning.
