Job Description Own end‑to‑end technical responsibility for AS400 applications, including country‑specific core banking, lending, deposits, payments, and regulatory systems. Ensure stability and performance of RPG/RPGLE, COBOL, CL, and DB2/400–based applications supporting critical banking operation Provide technical leadership for IBM i (AS400)-based applications supporting core banking, lending, deposits, payments, and other banking systems. Lead the design, development, enhancement, testing, deployment, and production support of AS400 applications. Oversee batch processing, online transactions, interface integrations, and file management to support business operations. Collaborate with business users, solution architects, project managers, and offshore development teams to gather requirements and deliver technical solutions. Review technical designs, code quality, and implementation approaches to ensure adherence to development standards and best practices. Support incident management, root cause analysis, defect resolution, and continuous service improvement initiatives. Manage application releases, change requests, and deployment activities while ensuring compliance with governance and audit requirements. Work closely with stakeholders to support regulatory reporting, compliance initiatives, and operational risk management. Mentor development teams, provide technical guidance, and promote knowledge sharing across project teams. Participate in Agile ceremonies, project planning, estimation, and technical reviews to ensure timely project delivery. Key Requirements Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Software Engineering, or related discipline 8+ years of hands-on experience developing and supporting applications on the IBM i (AS400) platform. Strong technical expertise in RPG/RPGLE, COBOL, CL/CLLE, SQL, and DB2/400. Proven experience supporting core banking, retail banking, corporate banking, lending, deposits, payments, or other banking applications, preferably within global financial institutions. Strong understanding of batch processing, online programs, file handling, interface integrations, and production support in AS400 environments. Experience leading development teams and coordinating with onshore and offshore delivery teams within BFSI environments. Familiarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC), Agile methodologies, release management, and change management processes. Experience with API integrations, messaging technologies, or enterprise integration solutions will be an advantage. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, stakeholder management, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities while delivering high-quality solutions in a fast-paced banking environment.
