Controls Technical Lead - Data Center

Role Overview An engineering organisation is seeking a Controls Technical Lead to provide technical leadership across the design, review, integration and optimisation of electrical protection and control systems for critical infrastructure projects. The role will support the full project lifecycle, ensuring systems are engineered, tested and delivered to the highest standards while driving technical excellence, stakeholder collaboration and continuous improvement. Responsibilities Lead the design, review and implementation of protection and control systems. Conduct power system studies, modelling and technical analysis. Configure, test and commission protection relays and automation systems. Review engineering deliverables to ensure compliance with industry standards. Support the development of innovative electrical solutions for critical infrastructure. Drive system improvements focused on reliability, efficiency and performance. Manage technical issues, defect resolution and project close-out activities. Act as the key technical interface between project teams, vendors and stakeholders. Maintain engineering documentation, reporting and design standards. Requirements Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline. Strong experience in protection and control engineering. Knowledge of electrical power systems, relays and automation technologies. Experience with power system modelling and analysis software. Familiarity with IEC, ANSI and relevant industry standards. Proven capability in design review and technical assurance activities. Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
