Roles & Responsibilities We are seeking a proactive and analytical Cyber Security Engineer to safeguard our organization's digital assets, cloud environments, and IT infrastructure. In this role, you will design, implement, and maintain robust security measures to protect against emerging threats, manage security incidents, and ensure data integrity across our platforms. You will work closely with cross-functional infrastructure teams and external vendors to maintain a resilient and compliant security posture. Key Responsibilities: Security Architecture & Deployment: Assist in the design, configuration, deployment, and management of core security tools, including Firewalls, EDR/NDR solutions, SIEM systems (e.g., Splunk), Data Loss Prevention (DLP), and email security controls. Threat & Incident Management: Actively monitor security logs and alerts to detect unauthorized access, investigate anomalies, and coordinate rapid response and root-cause analysis for security incidents. Vulnerability Assessments: Conduct regular vulnerability scanning (e.g., Nessus) and coordinate penetration testing and IT security audits with internal teams and external vendors. Governance & Compliance: Support the development, review, and maintenance of IT security frameworks, hardening standards, and standard operational procedures (SOPs) in alignment with industry best practices (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001). Vendor & Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with technology vendors for product implementation and troubleshooting, and effectively present technical security findings to both technical teams and business stakeholders. Requirements Qualifications & Experience: A recognized Degree or Diploma in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline. Minimum of 4 to 7 years of hands-on experience in an IT network security, security operations center (SOC), or cybersecurity engineer role. Technical Competencies: Strong working knowledge of networking concepts, secure network protocols, and core security tools (Firewalls, VPNs, WAF). Proven experience working with SIEM platforms (e.g., log collection and correlation analysis) and Endpoint Detection & Response (EDR) solutions. Familiarity with common OS platforms (Windows, Linux) and cloud security concepts (AWS, Azure). Understanding of prominent cyber threat vectors, OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities, and risk management methodologies. Soft Skills & Attributes: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with high audit-readiness discipline. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to clearly articulate security risks to non-technical users. A strong team player who is equally comfortable driving features and incident resolution independently. Preferred Certifications (Highly Advantageous): Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or CompTIA Security+ will be highly regarded.
