Building Engineer

About the Role We are seeking a qualified and detail-oriented BuildingEngineer to support and oversee BCA-mandated building inspections, includingPeriodic Façade Inspection (PFI) projects across residential, commercial,industrial, and mixed-use developments in Singapore. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuringcompliance with the Singapore Building Control Act, managing inspectionprocesses, preparing technical reports, coordinating façade inspections(including drone-assisted inspections), and liaising with clients, consultants,and authorities. Key Responsibilities Periodic Façade Inspection (PFI) Plan, manage and execute façade inspection projects in accordance with BCA regulations. Carry out visual and technical façade assessments using conventional methods and/or drone technology. Coordination with external teams, architects, contracts and clients (MCST and property owners) to ensure project requirements are met. Prepare and review inspection reports, drawings, and safety risks related to façade elements to support project deliverables. Project & Stakeholder Management Coordinate access arrangements, inspection schedules, safety requirements, and permit submissions. Identify project risks and propose solutions to maintain project performance and efficiency. Manage project timelines, budgets, documentation, and regulatory submissions. Provide technical advice and recommendations to clients on building maintenance and compliance matters. Other ad-hoc duties assigned by the management. Regulatory & Compliance Ensure all inspections and reports comply with BCA regulations and Singapore building codes. Ensure compliance with façade inspection standards and reporting requirements. Prepare and submit documentation to statutory agencies/authorities/government where necessary. Maintain proper inspection records, technical documentation, and audit trails. Ensure adherence to workplace safety and risk management standards. Requirements Mandatory Qualifications Degree/Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Building Engineering, or related discipline. 3–5 years of relevant experience in building inspection, structural engineering, façade inspection, or building consultancy. Preferred: Registered Professional Engineer (PE) with the Professional Engineers Board (PEB) Singapore or Registered Architect (RA) with Board of Architect (BOA) Singapore. Familiarity with Singapore Building Control Act and BCA inspection requirements. Experience in PFI projects, working with drone-assisted inspection methodologies is an advantage. Knowledge of façade systems, structural defects, and building maintenance practices. Experience preparing technical reports and authority submissions. Skills & Competencies Strong technical and analytical skills. Good understanding of structural integrity and façade safety requirements. Excellent report writing and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously. Strong attention to detail and compliance standards. Proficiency in engineering and reporting software/tools.
