JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title Facilities Maintenance & Cleaning Officer Occupation BUILDING MAINTENANCE HANDYMAN Job Description & Requirements FACILITIES MAINTENANCE & CLEANING OFFICER Full-Time / Permanent or Contract Fitness & Pilates Studios Work Locations Pasir Ris Central Toa Payoh Downtown East Other company locations where support may be required About the Role We are looking for a reliable and hands-on Facilities Maintenance & Cleaning Officer to keep our fitness and Pilates studios clean, safe, well-maintained and operational. This is a combined cleaning, handyman and facilities-support role. Cleaning and maintaining the studios will be a core responsibility. You will also carry out minor repairs and preventive maintenance, maintain training equipment, coordinate external contractors and inspect completed work. Key Responsibilities Studio Cleaning and Upkeep Clean and sanitise training areas, equipment and high-touch surfaces. Clean toilets, showers, changing rooms, reception areas and common spaces. Sweep, vacuum and mop floors, empty rubbish bins and replenish supplies. Conduct regular cleaning rounds and periodic deep cleaning. Maintain sufficient cleaning and maintenance supplies. Ensure studios remain clean, presentable and ready for members throughout operating hours. Facilities Maintenance and Repairs Conduct routine inspections and identify defects, damage and safety hazards. Perform minor repairs, adjustments, patching and replacement of simple fixtures. Carry out painting, wall touch-ups and other basic improvement work. Attend to minor defects involving doors, locks, fittings, furniture and non-specialist fixtures. Record reported defects and follow through until they are resolved. Escalate electrical, plumbing, fire-safety and regulated work to appropriately qualified contractors. Training Equipment Maintenance Inspect gym, Pilates and other training equipment regularly. Carry out basic preventive maintenance, including tightening fittings, lubrication, adjustments and replacement of simple wear-and-tear parts. Identify unsafe or defective equipment and remove or isolate it from use. Maintain equipment servicing and repair records. Arrange specialist or manufacturer servicing where required. Contractor Coordination Contact contractors and arrange inspections, repairs and maintenance visits. Obtain and compare quotations based on scope, price, response time and quality. Brief contractors on the approved scope of work. Coordinate access and supervise contractors while they are working on-site. Ensure contractors observe safety, access and housekeeping requirements. Follow up on incomplete, defective or unsatisfactory work. Work Inspection and Documentation Inspect completed contractor work against the approved quotation or work order. Confirm whether the agreed work has been completed satisfactorily. Endorse internal work orders for administrative and payment processing. Record outstanding defects and coordinate any necessary rectification. Maintain quotations, invoices, warranties, photographs and service reports. The officer’s endorsement confirms that the agreed work has been physically completed. It does not constitute professional certification of regulated or statutory work unless the officer holds the required qualification or licence. Requirements At least one year of relevant experience in facilities maintenance, handyman work, cleaning or property upkeep. Willing to perform studio cleaning as a core responsibility. Practical ability to carry out minor repairs, painting and preventive maintenance. Comfortable using common hand tools and maintenance equipment. Able to coordinate contractors, obtain quotations and check completed work. Experience maintaining gym, fitness or mechanical training equipment is advantageous. Responsible, organised and able to work independently. Physically fit and able to carry supplies, move light equipment and use an appropriate ladder safely. Able to use WhatsApp, take photographs and maintain basic digital records. Able to travel between work locations when required. A valid driving licence and access to transport would be advantageous but are not essential. Work Arrangements Full-time permanent or contract position. Flexible work and shift arrangements may be discussed. Work will be performed across Pasir Ris, Toa Payoh and Downtown East. Weekend or public-holiday support may occasionally be required.
