Job Summary The Marine & Offshore Project Engineer is responsible for supporting the execution of marine and offshore engineering projects from concept design through construction, commissioning, and delivery. The role involves coordinating engineering activities, managing project schedules, liaising with clients, classification societies, vendors, and shipyards, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in compliance with applicable rules and standards. Key Responsibilities Project Engineering · Coordinate engineering activities throughout the project lifecycle. · Review client specifications, technical documents, and contractual requirements. · Prepare technical reports, engineering deliverables, and project documentation. · Monitor engineering progress and ensure timely submission of deliverables. Project Management · Assist the Project Manager in planning, scheduling, and executing projects. · Monitor project milestones, budgets, and resource allocation. · Prepare weekly and monthly project progress reports. · Track project risks, issues, and change orders. · Coordinate project meetings and maintain meeting minutes and action registers. Engineering Coordination · Coordinate with naval architects, structural, mechanical, piping, electrical, and instrumentation engineers. · Review engineering drawings, calculations, specifications, and material requisitions. · Ensure engineering deliverables comply with applicable standards, class rules, and client requirements. Client & Stakeholder Management · Act as a technical interface between clients, vendors, shipyards, and classification societies. · Attend client meetings and technical clarification discussions. · Coordinate technical queries (TQs), comments, and document reviews. Construction & Site Support · Provide engineering support during vessel construction, conversion, and commissioning. · Attend site inspections, FAT, SAT, harbour acceptance tests, and sea trials. · Coordinate with shipyards to resolve technical issues during construction. · Monitor construction progress against project schedules. Quality, Safety & Compliance · Ensure compliance with: o IMO regulations o SOLAS o MARPOL o Flag State requirements o Classification Society Rules (ABS, BV, DNV, Lloyd's Register, RINA, etc.) Experience · 2–8 years of experience in marine, offshore, shipbuilding, or oil & gas projects. · Experience with shipyards, engineering consultancies, EPC contractors, or vessel owners is preferred. · Experience in vessel newbuilding, conversion, retrofit, offshore platforms, FPSO, FSRU, or offshore support vessels is an advantage.
