Retail Trade Manager – Job Description Job Summary The Retail Trade Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and managing the overall retail business operations to achieve sales growth, operational excellence, and customer satisfaction. The role oversees retail outlets, staff performance, inventory management, merchandising, financial performance, and compliance with company policies and Singapore regulations. Key Responsibilities Plan, organize, and oversee the daily operations of retail stores. Develop and implement retail business strategies to achieve sales and profitability targets. Monitor store performance, sales trends, and key performance indicators (KPIs). Manage and supervise store managers, supervisors, and retail staff. Recruit, train, mentor, and evaluate employees to maintain high performance standards. Ensure excellent customer service and promptly resolve customer complaints. Monitor inventory levels, stock replenishment, and stock accuracy. Coordinate with suppliers and procurement teams to ensure timely product availability. Develop merchandising plans, product displays, and promotional activities to maximize sales. Prepare sales forecasts, operational budgets, and management reports. Analyse market trends, customer preferences, and competitor activities to identify growth opportunities. Ensure compliance with company policies, workplace safety requirements, and applicable Singapore regulations. Manage operational costs and implement cost-control measures to improve profitability. Coordinate with finance, marketing, logistics, and procurement teams to support business objectives. Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and customer experience. Requirements Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Business Administration, Retail Management, Marketing, or a related field. Minimum 3–5 years of experience in retail management or retail operations. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Experience in sales management, inventory control, and customer service. Good analytical and problem-solving abilities. Proficient in Microsoft Office and retail POS/inventory management systems. Ability to manage multiple retail outlets and lead diverse teams.
