We are seeking a senior accounting and audit leader with extensive regulatory, policy, stakeholder management, and leadership experience to drive financial reporting standards, strengthen regulatory oversight, and lead organisational transformation initiatives. Responsibilities Lead the financial reporting and inspection functions to uphold high standards in accounting, auditing, and financial reporting through regulatory programmes. Provide strategic leadership and technical guidance on accounting and auditing standards, regulatory policies, and professional practices. Drive organisational transformation by implementing process improvements, AI adoption, and data-driven initiatives to enhance regulatory effectiveness. Lead environmental scanning and assess developments in accounting standards, regulations, and the global business landscape to inform strategic direction. Build and maintain strong relationships with government agencies, professional bodies, industry stakeholders, and international regulatory organisations. Oversee the review and enhancement of legislation, policies, and regulatory frameworks to ensure continued relevance and effectiveness. Represent the organisation at committee meetings and provide strategic recommendations on regulatory, policy, and governance matters. Develop organisational capabilities by strengthening leadership, building technical expertise, and fostering a sustainable talent pipeline. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, Business, or a related discipline; CPA, CA, ACCA, or equivalent professional accounting qualification preferred. At least 15 years of relevant experience in accounting, auditing, financial reporting, regulatory, or public sector leadership roles, with significant people management experience. Strong technical knowledge of accounting and auditing standards, financial reporting frameworks, and regulatory requirements. Proven experience leading large teams, driving organisational transformation, and implementing strategic initiatives. Demonstrated ability to develop and review policies, legislation, and regulatory frameworks. Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience engaging government agencies, professional bodies, senior executives, and international organisations. Excellent strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving abilities, with the capability to provide sound recommendations on complex regulatory and governance matters. Outstanding communication and presentation skills, with experience presenting to senior management, boards, or regulatory committees. Experience driving digital transformation, process improvements, or leveraging AI and data analytics to improve business or regulatory outcomes would be an advantage.
