About this role

The Dimensional Control Assistant supports the Dimensional Control team in performing measurement, fit-up, and alignment surveys during fabrication, construction, and installation activities. Working under the guidance of experienced surveyors, the role assists with dimensional verification, data collection, survey documentation, and equipment maintenance to ensure that structures and components are installed in accordance with engineering drawings, project specifications, and quality requirements. Work Location: Seatrium Admiralty Yard Working Hours: Mon-Fri 8am-5pm, Sat 8am-12pm This is a contract role until 31 Mar 2028 Responsibilities Assist Dimensional Control Surveyors in carrying out fit-up and alignment surveys using equipment such as Total Station, Theodolite, and Laser Tracker. Support the collection of dimensional data and perform basic survey measurements under supervision. Assist in preparing survey records, dimensional control reports, and related documentation. Help maintain and organize survey equipment, ensuring proper handling and storage. Support QA/QC and engineering teams by providing accurate survey data as directed. Assist fabrication, rigging, and installation teams with routine dimensional verification activities. Report measurement discrepancies or potential dimensional issues to the Dimensional Control Surveyor for review. Follow company HSE procedures and participate in toolbox talks and safety activities. Perform other survey-related duties as assigned by the Dimensional Control Surveyor or Supervisor. Requirements Certificate, NITEC, Higher NITEC, or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, Surveying, or a related discipline. 0–3 years of experience in dimensional control, surveying, fabrication, or a related industrial environment. Basic understanding of engineering drawings and dimensional measurements. Willingness to learn dimensional control techniques and survey equipment operation. Basic knowledge of AutoCAD or similar drafting software is an advantage. Familiarity with Total Station, Theodolite, Laser Tracker, or other survey instruments is an added advantage but not mandatory. Good attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately. Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team. Possess a positive attitude, willingness to learn, and strong commitment to safety.
