Business Development Manager

The trainee will be attached as a Business Development Manager to assist the Director in handling business coordination and project-related matters. As the company has only one Director, the trainee will support in sourcing projects, dealing with clients, and coordinating with subcontractors and suppliers. Through this attachment, the trainee will learn how business development is handled in a small construction company, from inquiry stage to project execution. Specific Responsibilities 1. Assist Director in sourcing and following up on new construction and upgrading projects. 2. Communicate with potential clients regarding project inquiries and basic requirements. 3. Help prepare simple quotations, proposals, and cost breakdowns. 4. Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers for pricing, availability, and scope of work. 5. Assist in tracking project status from award stage to completion. 6. Support Director in preparing basic reports and records related to projects and clients. 7. Help coordinate meetings, site visits, and follow-up discussions when required. Technical Skills and Competencies 1. Basic understanding of construction business and general contracting works handled by the company. 2. Able to understand client enquiries, project scope, and basic requirements for discussion and follow-up. 3. Ability to understand simple drawings and scope of work for quotation and proposal purpose. 4. Knowledge of basic costing, pricing, and preparation of construction quotations. 5. Basic planning and coordination skill to support project timelines and follow-up of ongoing jobs. 6. Able to communicate clearly with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers on business matters. 7. Basic skill in preparing proposals, quotations, reports, and business-related documents. 8. Ability to assist in sourcing new projects and following up on business opportunities. 9. Problem-solving skill to assist in handling business and project coordination issues under Director guidance. Duration of Traineeship/Attachment Offered - 6 months Mature Mid Career Individuals - $2,800 This Position is open for mid career individuals (Mature, 40 years and above).
