Job Description/ Responsibilities Support Vice President – Head of Sony Global Tax Office Asia Pacific in managing direct and indirect taxes (including transfer pricing) in Asia Pacific region Work closely with internalstakeholders (with primary focus in liaising with HQ management teams locatedin Japan) to provide corporate tax advisory, planning and tax risk managementin Asia Pacific region Collaborate with functional groups including local business units to define and implement appropriate transfer pricing strategies, tax compliance and reporting controls Monitor proposed/newly enacted tax legislation/ jurisprudence/ international tax developments and analyze their impact to Sony businesses Coordinate tax audit and tax dispute management strategies for corporate taxes and transfer pricing, including supporting tax appeal/ litigation cases in Asia Pacific region Manage external advisors to effectively address tax issues and risk areas, including access to mutual agreement procedures/ advance pricing arrangements Assist in ad-hoc projects impacting Sony businesses in Asia Pacific region Qualifications/ Requirements Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in accounting and tax or equivalent qualifications Minimum of 10 years’ experience in tax and financial accounting in a multinational corporation (MNC)environment. Experience in the consumer and technology industry will be highly advantageous Experience and in-depth knowledge of IFRS and Japan taxation system especially Tax Haven rules applicable to affiliates of a MNE incorporated in Japan. Expertise in international taxation rules (including transfer pricing rules) would be a strong advantage, especially familiarity in the taxation systems of countries in the Asia Pacific region Minimum of 5 years’ experience in providing tax advisory and handling tax compliance/ audits Certificated public accountant license holder with international/regional tax experience is highly advantageous Strong communication and project management skills, including being effective in working with internal and external stake holders with diverse cultures, background and locations on cross border tax projects impacting regional operations and HQ Overseas travelling may be required Effective influencing, organizational and problem-solving skills Strong presentation skills and ability to write professionally Proficiency in the Japanese language (JLPT N1) is strongly preferred to liaise with Japan HQ and Japanese management personnel based in the Asia Pacific region Business proficiency in both English and Japanese to handle business documents written in English and Japanese
