About this role

Key duties and responsibilities Take on a lead project management role for all interior design projects across Asia, working closely with all relevant internal teams. Work closely with our project design teams to provide key design aspects and direction, including in the delivery phase. Bridge the coordination between relevant consultants and designers (i.e. kitchen consultant, lighting consultant). Coordinate architectural matters and bridge communication between Architects and Interior Designers. Assist with structuring the foundations of selected presentations and assist the team with design presentation strategy. Assist with client facing interactions and assist in presentations, when needed. Have a deep understanding of the big picture of the project and all that comes with having a holistic understanding of down flow impacts and requirements. Assist in managing client expectations and deliverables. Understand the unique skill sets each team member possesses and ensure quality is not compromised in the final outcome. Guide and coach those who might need more guidance than others. Maintain good relationship with company team members and assist leaders in ensuring the team is in good spirit to deliver and perform. Escalate issues to leaders regarding team well being when required. Ensure the design team is meeting weekly deadlines stipulated by the client. Assist with team member resourcing for Asia, working closely with other senior interior design team members in the region to ensure cross pollination, utilisation and team member growth and development. Play a role in connecting all interior team members together across the region including, but not limited to project placements, on-the-job coaching and mentoring, design discussions, training workshops around delivery. Assist in developing company’ Interior Design strategy and plan. Undertake business development related activities for Populous within the region, with the goal of enhancing profile and project opportunities. Be solution focused in the requirements of clients, project managers, contractors and team members during the design realisation, project documentation and construction administration. Inventive and creative thinking including spatial and environmental design, master planning, story creation reflecting research and location criteria. Assist leaders in the day-to-day operations of the project and tasks delegated. Time management and communication with Project Lead and team members of assigned tasks and deliverables to meet fast paced project demands. Attend office meetings, team briefings and openly communicate and provide reports to Project Lead on a regular basis regarding the progress of individual projects and tasks under their responsibility. Assist in the maintenance of office systems including updating of the Integrated Management System. At all times ensure the safety of yourself, team members, clients and visitors at workplace/site locations. Develop an awareness of and follow all current Policies and Procedures for the location, region and global practice. Essential Qualifications (Education & Experience) Required: Bachelor’s degree in interior design, architecture, or related discipline. 8–10 years of experience in interior design and technical project delivery. Strong experience delivering complex architectural and interior design projects in Singapore and/or regional markets. Business development experience within the SEA region and interior design field with proven experience in winning projects and identifying new project opportunities. Knowledge, skills, & competencies (technical or behavioral) Strong understanding of construction detailing, materials, building systems, and local authority requirements. Experience coordinating multidisciplinary projects through all project stages. Excellent knowledge of technical documentation standards and contract administration processes. Strong communication and stakeholder coordination skills. Highly organised with strong attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously. Collaborative mindset with leadership and mentoring capabilities. Proactive problem-solving and decision-making skills. English language proficiency. Demonstrable skills using Microsoft Office products and presentation software. High level skill in written, verbal and non-verbal communication for report writing, presentations and discussions with team members.
