We are looking for a passionate and committed French Teacher who can make language learning engaging, structured, and meaningful for students from Grade 1 to Grade 8. Role Overview The French Teacher will be responsible for planning and delivering French language lessons that build students’ listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. The teacher should create an interactive classroom environment where students develop confidence in using French through activities, conversations, role play, projects, and cultural exposure. The role requires a teacher who is patient, creative, well-organised, and aligned with the school’s values of Truth, Right Conduct, Peace, Love, and Non-Violence. Key Responsibilities - Teach French language to students from Grade 1 to Grade 8. - Prepare age-appropriate lesson plans, worksheets, assessments, and learning activities. - Develop students’ skills in French vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, conversation, reading, and writing. - Use interactive teaching methods such as storytelling, songs, games, role play, dialogues, presentations, and group activities. - Introduce students to French culture, festivals, traditions, and everyday communication. - Assess students regularly through classwork, oral activities, written tasks, quizzes, and projects. - Maintain student progress records and provide timely feedback to students and parents. - Support differentiated learning for students with varying language abilities. - Create a positive, respectful, and encouraging classroom environment. - Participate in school events, cultural programmes, assemblies, and language-related activities. - Work collaboratively with other teachers and school leadership. - Uphold the school’s values-based education approach in classroom conduct and student interactions. Candidate Requirements - Bachelor’s Degree in French, Education, Languages, Linguistics, or a related field. - Teaching qualification such as B.Ed., PGCE, Diploma in Education, or equivalent will be preferred. - DELF/DALF certification or equivalent French language proficiency will be an advantage. - Prior experience teaching French to primary and/or middle school students. - Strong command of French and English. - Ability to make language learning engaging, practical, and student-friendly. - Good classroom management and communication skills. - Comfortable using digital tools, presentations, videos, and interactive resources for teaching. - Patient, warm, disciplined, and child-centric in approach. - Willingness to contribute to a values-based school environment.
