About this role
The Enrolled Nurse (EN) plays a crucial role in providing quality care to elderly residents. They work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) and collaborate with doctors, therapists, and caregivers to ensure residents receive the best possible medical and personal care. 1. Nursing & Clinical Care • Supervise Care Staff to ensure residents’ good personal hygiene and comfort, with daily nursing care activities such as bathing, feeding, dressing, and mobility support for residents. • Monitor and record vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, respiration) and report abnormalities. • Administer medications and perform simple medical procedures (e.g., wound dressing, injections) under RN supervision. • Assist in managing chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and dementia. • Respond promptly as First Responder to emergencies and provide basic life support (BLS) if needed. 2. Resident Well-being & Support • Provide emotional and psychological support to elderly residents. • Encourage and assist residents in participating in rehabilitation activities and recreational programs. • Coordinate and arrange the follow up medical check-up and medical appointments for the residents, including transport and escort services 3. Infection Control & Safety • Maintain infection control standards to ensure a clean and safe environment. • Follow nursing home protocols and guidelines for handling medical waste, hygiene, and fall prevention. 4. Documentation & Communication • Maintain accurate nursing records and reports on residents’ conditions and treatments. • Communicate effectively with doctors, therapists, caregivers, and family members. • Participate in handover briefings and care planning meetings with the healthcare team. 5. Collaboration & Teamwork • Assist in training and supervising Healthcare Assistants (HCAs). • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic care for residents. • Support Registered Nurses in care planning and execution.
