Job Summary • Evaluate and recommend/approve new applications, increase in limits and annual reviews for approval submitted through various channels i.e. Branches, dedicated and direct sales channels for retail banking and/or business banking products • Work with various stakeholders including Product, Policy, Sales and Operations closely • Participate in system enhancement and changes and perform testing and verification • Participate in process change discussions and implementations • Ensure that the department’s Service Quality and Key Control Standards are complied with. • Ad hoc reporting and other duties assigned from time to time. • Engage in regular discussions to drive operational efficiency and knowledge sharing. • Proactive and independent assessment of applications and fraud awareness • Effective management of work and ensuring performance within expected turnaround time • Embed the Group’s values and code of conduct • Good understanding of the role requirements and ensure that these are well understood reflected in internal procedures. • Identifying and escalation of all exceptions on non-compliance with standard controls Key Responsibilities Business • Work with stakeholders including Product, Policy, Sales and Operations closely. Perform other responsibilities assigned under Group, Country, Business or Functional policies and procedures; Multiple functions (double hats); Our Ideal Candidate • 3+ years of relevant working experience in Banking domain • Ensuring accuracy on credit checks, understanding of MAS 632 & 645 policies • Financial Analysis - Reviewing income, debt to income ratio and credit worthiness etc • Risk Assessment - Identifying and mitigating risks in Mortgage Lending • Understanding of regulatory guidelines related to Mortgage underwriting • Understanding underwriting guidelines and policy rules • Understanding of product features of Mortgage Role Specific Technical Competencies • Understanding of guidelines related to Mortgage Lending underwriting • Understanding underwriting guidelines and policy rules • Understanding of product features of Mortgage Lending About Standard Chartered We're an international bank, nimble enough to act, big enough for impact.
